A contemporary pool house extension designed for contemporary indoor–outdoor living

We are delighted to have received planning permission for a series of extensions and associated landscaping works to a residential property in St Saviour, Jersey.

The approved scheme replaces an existing oversized pool complex with a more appropriately proportioned and thoughtfully designed pool house that responds sensitively to its setting. The new building has been carefully scaled to sit comfortably within the landscape while significantly improving the functionality and quality of the outdoor spaces.

The pool house incorporates a range of flexible living areas, including seating, dining and kitchen spaces, alongside a dedicated shower room. A roof terrace provides elevated views across the site, while an external pool and surrounding landscaped areas are designed to encourage year-round use and enjoyment.

A key driver of the design was the creation of seamless indoor–outdoor living. The layout and landscaping work together to blur the boundary between inside and outside, allowing the spaces to adapt easily for relaxation, entertaining and family use. Materials and proportions have been carefully considered to ensure the development complements the existing property while delivering a contemporary and cohesive addition.

This project represents a balanced approach to enhancing residential amenity through considered architecture and landscape design, transforming an underperforming element of the site into a refined and integrated outdoor living environment.
